The ban on the sale of new SIMs by franchises and retailers of all mobile network companies of Pakistan has been lifted after the end of SIM Re-verification process, SimsPK confirmed it with PTA. This Sunday, the period of BVS process is over and finally the ban on the sales of all new SIMs of all mobile operators of Pakistan has been lifted over by PTA.
During SIM re-verification process, all 5 mobile phone companies of Pakistan including Zong, Ufone, Telenor, Mobilink and Warid were not allowed to sell any new prepaid or postpaid SIM card to their customers via any channel including franchises or retail outlets etc. however, it was allowed to mobile phone companies to sell their SIMs via the official and company owned service centers in Pakistan.
Now, mobile phone companies are now allowed to sell new connections through all possible channels as the ban has been lifted over. On the other hand, it is now mandatory to issue all new SIMs after biometric verification of customers. We can expect that in coming days, telecom companies would be offering some attractive new SIMs offers to compensate the crises that these faced during the verification process due to the ban on sales of new SIMs. Let’s hope for some new exciting new SIMs offer by all telecom companies with SimsPK!!!
