Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) is planning for the deployment of Wireless Local Loop (WLL) services in the regions of Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan. Previously, the regulatory authority announced that AJK and G&B will soon get 3G and 4G services. PTA is currently busy to auction 3G/4G spectrum in these areas.
Details:
- Recently, Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) directed all the 5 telecom operators of Pakistan to submit their application forms along with the sealed bids before 20th of November, 2015 for the spectrum auction of Wireless Local Loop (WLL).
- PTA also released the Information Memorandum for the spectrum auction which covers details of following base prices for the operators for each lot offered in the auction: the details are tabled below:

It is also worth mentioning here that as compared to the Fixed Local Line (FLL) services, the installment of Wireless Local Loops (WLL) for the people residing in hill areas like Azad Jammu & Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan is better as it provides better and feasible voice and data services.
