Every IT related person knows that Qatar Telecom is the owner of Witribe in Pakistan. SimsPk also get to know them that once again, Qatar Telecom has shown concern to get an entry into the cellular network domain in Pakistan. IT Ministry of Pakistan announces that Qatar Telecom is showing its interest for acquiring 4G license in Pakistan.

On 1st of October 2014, the CEO of Witribe, Wasim Ahmad, led a delegation from Qatar Telecom and visited Minister of IT, Anusha Rahman, in Islamabad. The delegation showed interest for achieving 4G license which was left over un-sold in 3G 4G auction in Pakistan, held in May 2014.

Qatar Telecom delegation said, “We are waiting impatiently for the instant, when Pakistan would publicize auction of the left over spectrum of 4G, so that Qatar based telecom companies could take part in the bid for advance expansion of their businesses in significantly growing Information and communications technology (I.C.T) market of Pakistan”.

The Minister of IT, Anusha Rahman, has confirmed that the government of Pakistan is deciding to arrange the auction of left over two spectrums licenses before the mid of 2015. She further added in reference to China Mobile (Zong) that the potential of 3G and 4G services in Pakistan is immense that is proved from the 1 million subscriber base of Zong in merely 3 month time.
